Four Decades for Justice
Two Cravath partners participated in “Tax Planning for Domestic & Foreign Partnerships, LLCs, Joint Ventures & Other Strategic Alliances 2014,” a conference presented by the Practising Law Institute and held in San Francisco, California, on June 10-12, 2014.
Andrew W. Needham spoke on a panel entitled “Adjustments to the Basis of Partnership Assets (Sections 734, 743, and 754),” which discussed recent developments in the rules governing basis step-ups by partnerships following the sale or redemption of a partnership interest. Stephen L. Gordon, Head of the Firm’s Tax Department, spoke on a panel entitled “Disregarded Entities: How Disregarded Are They?,” which discussed recent developments in the tax treatment of disregarded entities.
