On October 27 - 28, 2011, Cravath partner Michael L. Schler participated in “Tax Strategies for Corporate Acquisitions, Dispositions, Spin-Offs, Joint Ventures, Financings, Reorganizations & Restructurings 2011,” a conference presented by the Practising Law Institute and held in New York City. On the first day, Mike moderated a panel entitled “Hot Topics from the Perspective of the Office of the Associate Chief Counsel (Corporate) and the Office of Tax Legislative Counsel.” On the second day, he spoke on a panel entitled “Consolidated Return Planning and Strategies,” which discussed current issues including IRS rulings, court decisions, intercompany transactions and buyer and seller planning for acquisitions and dispositions.
