Four Decades for Justice
On June 19, 2019, Cravath was named “Litigation Department of the Year” by the New York Law Journal in recognition of the Firm’s litigation results from the last year. The Litigation Department’s notable representations included, among other matters, securing a victory for American Express at the U.S. Supreme Court in one of the most significant government antitrust enforcement actions in history; winning a landmark ruling for Credit Suisse before the New York Court of Appeals in a suit brought by the New York Attorney General, which cut in half the statute of limitations for Martin Act claims; successfully representing Time Warner in an antitrust lawsuit filed by the DOJ seeking to block Time Warner’s $109 billion acquisition by AT&T; and reaching a global settlement for Qualcomm in its technology war with Apple just as trial began in California federal court.
