Four Decades for Justice
March 21, 2019
On March 22, 2019, the New‑York Historical Society opened an exhibition, entitled “Two Centuries of the Law: Cravath, Swaine & Moore,” commemorating the storied history of the Firm.
The exhibit, which runs from March 22 through June 9, 2019, demonstrates the impact Cravath has had in the 200 years since its founding. Through a selection of notable highlights that includes securing patents for the telegraph and sewing machine, organizing NBC for its original shareholders, and establishing equal access to locker rooms for women sports reporters, the Firm’s history is brought to life with the New‑York Historical Society’s unique curation of photographs, documents and prints.
The New‑York Historical Society noted Cravath’s influence in “help[ing] society and the world advance, shaping American culture and building the large‑scale commercial and financial systems that exist today.”
