Reform of the Swaps Market under the Dodd‑Frank Act

July 28, 2010

On July 22, 2010, a memo, entitled “Reform of the Swaps Market under the Dodd-Frank Act,” was issued to Cravath clients. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act seeks to make fundamental changes in the operation of the swaps market by giving the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission authority to regulate the market and its principal participants. This memo highlights the key provisions of the Dodd-Frank act as they affect the swaps market.

For more information, contact Cravath partners B. Robbins Kiessling, William P. Rogers, Jr. or Andrew J. Pitts.
