Cravath’s Antitrust practice is ranked among the “Elite” in Global Competition Review’s 2018 edition of GCR 100, a guide to the world’s leading competition law and economics practices. This is the eighth consecutive year the Firm has been ranked in the highest tier among New York firms by GCR. The publication highlighted Cravath’s role advising on antitrust matters for companies “engaged in hundreds of billions of dollars in deals,” including Time Warner in its sale to AT&T, British American Tobacco in its acquisition of Reynolds American and Anheuser‑Busch InBev in its acquisition of SABMiller. GCR also noted Cravath’s antitrust litigation work, including the Firm’s representation of American Express in several class actions and arbitrations concerning AmEx’s “anti‑steering rules” and other alleged anticompetitive practices, including ongoing appeals and follow‑on damages claims in the government lawsuit over anti‑steering rules for merchants; BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee in consolidated multidistrict antitrust class action litigation; and Qualcomm in matters relating to its patent licensing and modem chipset businesses, including suits filed by the FTC and Apple.
