Cravath’s commitment to diversity is woven throughout our culture, and is inherently intertwined with the Firm’s commitment to excellence. Our philosophy is that by creating an inclusive environment, where lawyers from all backgrounds can reach their full potential, we can deliver the highest level of representation to our clients.

Our determination to recruit and retain lawyers from different backgrounds, and to promote diversity at all levels, comes from the top, with our Presiding Partner, Allen Parker, chairing our Diversity Committee. This is not a pilot program or a short‑term initiative. We are convinced that our effort to recruit and retain lawyers with a broad range of experiences and perspectives provides the Firm with a vital advantage.

Affinity Groups

We take a holistic approach to the career development of lawyers—one that recognizes the importance of training, relationship-building, mentoring and balancing career with outside obligations and interests. Our affinity groups provide an additional network for associates to access advice and informal mentoring.

Women’s Initiative

As part of a multi-faceted effort to recruit and retain excellent women lawyers, our Women’s Initiative hosts events throughout the year that help our women lawyers develop professional relationships and foster conversations about topics of particular interest to women attorneys.

Work/Life Programming

We recognize that balancing the demands of professional and personal life can be challenging at times, and we want our lawyers to enjoy satisfaction in both arenas. That is why we offer a solid support system and extensive work/life benefits.
