Elizabeth Albert focuses her practice on derivative matters, including fixed income, equity and credit derivatives, and also the impact of new derivatives regulation under the Dodd‑Frank Act.
Ms. Albert was born in Bethpage, New York. She received an A.B. cum laude from Harvard College in 1984 and a J.D. with honors from Yale Law School in 1987.
Ms. Albert joined Cravath in 2011 and was elected of counsel in 2022. Previously, she was a Vice President in the Legal and Compliance Department at Morgan Stanley & Co. as well as Senior Vice President & Counsel at D.E. Shaw & Co., a unit of which was sold to KBC Financial Products Group, where she was Managing Director and Global General Counsel for eight years, all in New York. Prior to that she was in private practice.

Cravath represented Cable One, Inc. in connection with $2.8 billion of amended and restated senior secured credit facilities provided by a syndicate of commercial banks and other lenders. The credit facilities consist of $1.8 billion of term loan facilities and a $1.0 billion revolving credit facility. Cable One is a leading broadband communications provider serving more than 1.1 million residential and business customers across 24 states. The transaction closed on February 22, 2023.

On November 15, 2022, Fifth Season Investments LLC (“Fifth Season Investments”) announced the acquisition of assets to form a new life settlement investment platform. The acquisition includes of all of the life settlement business assets of Fifth Season Financial, LP and substantially all of the life settlement investment positions and loans secured by life insurance policies owned by Chapford Capital II, LP and Chapford Diversified Fund, LP. The transaction is valued at $220 million. Fifth Season Investments is a portfolio company of certain Owl Rock business development companies. Cravath is representing Owl Rock in connection with the transaction.

Cravath is representing RWE, alongside Hengeler Mueller, in connection with the transaction.

Lehman & Company and Hill City Capital in an all‑cash transaction with an enterprise valuation of approximately $5.2 billion. Cravath is representing Atlas Air in connection with the transaction.
