Alibaba’s Investment in Amblin Partners

On October 9, 2016, Amblin Partners and Alibaba Pictures Group Limited, the entertainment company partially owned by Alibaba Group, announced that they have entered into a comprehensive strategic partnership, through which Alibaba Pictures will acquire a minority equity stake in Amblin Partners and an Alibaba Pictures representative will join the board of directors of Amblin Partners. Alibaba Pictures will be the first Chinese partner of Amblin Partners, the content‑creation company formed by DreamWorks Studios, Participant Media, Reliance Entertainment and Entertainment One. Cravath is representing Amblin Partners in connection with the transaction.
