Craig Arcella Authors Lexis Practice Advisor Article on ICO Cease‑and‑Desist Orders

Cravath partner Craig F. Arcella and associate Aashim Usgaonkar authored an article entitled “Recent ICO Cease‑and‑Desist Orders Illuminate SEC’s Crypto Framework: First Analysis,” which was published on October 17, 2019, as part of Lexis Practice Advisor’s “First Analysis” series, which covers current awareness topics related to capital markets and corporate governance. The article discusses cease‑and‑desist orders from the SEC relating to initial coin offerings (ICOs), including the SimplyVital cease‑and‑desist order and the ICO Rating cease‑and‑desist order. Craig also examines the SEC’s focus on determining whether digital assets such as cryptocurrencies are classified as “securities.”
