Cravath Publishes Quarterly Review on Q3 2020 Trends in M&A, Activism and Corporate Governance

In November 2020, Cravath published the seventh edition of its Quarterly Review, which examines the Q3 2020 M&A, activism and corporate governance landscape. The Review provides an overview of activity in those areas, highlights notable cases in the M&A space, shares trends in activism activity, and notes key developments in corporate governance over the period. The Q3 2020 edition further examines a resurgence in global M&A activity following a slow first half of 2020, including in the Technology, Media & Telecom, Energy, Mining & Utilities and Industrial and Chemical sectors, with significant private equity involvement and cross-border activity. Conversely, this period saw the lowest level of quarterly activism activity since 2013, with a historically low U.S. share of global activism.
