In Mergermarket’s M&A league table results for the first quarter of 2017, Cravath topped law firm rankings for advising on the largest global and Europe‑based deals. The Firm was ranked No. 1 for announced deals by value, both globally and in Europe. Cravath’s highlights from the quarter include representing British American Tobacco p.l.c. in connection with its pending $97 billion merger with Reynolds American Inc. through the acquisition of the remaining 57.8 percent in the company; Delfin S.a.r.l. and its subsidiary Luxottica Group S.p.A., as U.S. counsel, in connection with the pending $49 billion combination of Luxottica and Essilor International SA; Johnson & Johnson in connection with its pending $30 billion acquisition of Actelion Ltd.; and Zodiac Aerospace, as U.S. counsel, in connection with its pending $9 billion sale to Safran SA.
