Dave Kappos Discusses Blockchain and GDPR on Bloomberg TV

On March 4, 2019, Cravath partner David J. Kappos, together with former IBM Chairman and current CEO of The Center for Global Enterprise (“CGE”) Sam Palmisano, appeared on Bloomberg Television’s “Bloomberg Markets” to discuss a recent paper Dave wrote in conjunction with CGE and Slaughter and May. The paper, entitled “March of the Blocks,” lays out a path for blockchain technology to be implemented in a manner compliant with Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation. During the interview Dave cited strategies companies can use, such as implementing a detailed governance framework between a network of companies, to build a blockchain that works in harmony with rather than in opposition to the GDPR.
