Dave Kappos Speaks on Patent Innovation

On February 1, 2014, Cravath partner David J. Kappos participated in Patents and The Innovation Economy, a Hoover IP2 Working Group conference, presented by Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. Dave discussed a paper entitled “Property as Platform: Coordinating Standards for Technological Innovation” by Henry E. Smith, Fessenden Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. The paper focuses on property concepts, principally concepts of equity, as solutions to the controversies over intellectual property in standard‑setting efforts.
