Evan Chesler Honored in Connection with New York Law Journal‘s Professional Excellence Awards

Cravath partner Evan R. Chesler was honored in connection with the New York Law Journal’s 2017 “Professional Excellence Awards” as a finalist for the inaugural “Attorney of the Year” award. Evan was featured in an article published in a special supplement to the October 17, 2017 issue of the NYLJ that highlighted his role representing American Express in its winning appeal of a trial decision in an antitrust lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Justice and 17 state attorneys general over merchant acceptance rules. The NYLJ characterized the case as “no ordinary antitrust litigation,” given stakes that were “incredibly high” for American Express and the credit card industry more broadly.
