George Schoen Moderates Panel at the IBA’s Mergers and Acquisitions in the Technology Sector Conference

Cravath partner George F. Schoen participated in the International Bar Association’s 2018 Mergers and Acquisitions in the Technology Sector Conference, which was jointly presented by the IBA’s Corporate and M&A Law Committee and the IBA Technology Law Committee, and was held February 23-24, 2018, in Barcelona. George moderated a panel entitled “The Challenges of a Cross‑Border Asset Transaction,” which discussed trends in recent cross‑border asset transactions in the technology sector, the pros and cons of asset deals as compared to share deals, and the impact of asset deals on relevant aspects of M&A, including due diligence, funding and acquisition structures, intellectual privacy rights, data privacy, transfer formalities and liability issues.
