Cravath partners G.J. Ligelis Jr., Andrew W. Needham, Alyssa K. Caples and Margaret T. Segall served as global editors of and authored the U.S. chapter for the inaugural edition of Chambers “Investing In…” Guide, which is part of the publisher’s Global Practice Guide series and focuses on country‑specific legal issues that arise in connection with foreign direct investment and cross‑border transactions in various countries. The chapter authored by Cravath analyzes the legal and regulatory framework for foreign direct investment into the United States, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, capital markets, antitrust, national security, tax, employment, and intellectual property.
G.J. also authored the “Global Overview” for the “Investing In…” Guide, which provides an overview of the objectives of the guide in its inaugural edition and highlights recent developments in foreign direct investment due to global trade tensions, the COVID‑19 pandemic and enhanced national security review regimes.
