IBM’s Acquisition of Gravitant

On November 3, 2015, IBM announced that it has acquired Gravitant, Inc., a privately held company that develops cloud‑based software to enable organizations to plan, buy and manage software and computing services from multiple suppliers across hybrid clouds. Cravath represented IBM in connection with this transaction. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Cravath team included associate Eric D. Rinder ad foreign associate attorney Tomas E. Di Cio on M&A matters; associate Michelle M. Garrett on executive compensation and benefits matters; senior attorney Andrew Carlon and associate Dmitry Zelik on tax matters; and partner Matthew Morreale on environmental matters. Brian B.
