Saeed with the organization’s Leadership Award, presented at its annual Leadership Dinner in New York. Faiza was honored alongside Steven Klinsky, Founder and CEO of New Mountain Capital, and Rob Manfred, Commissioner of Major League Baseball.

On October 9, 2025, Cravath of counsel Kathryn‑Ann Stamm participated in a panel entitled “Legal Side of Startups,” hosted by the NYU Stern Business and Law Association (“SBLA”). SBLA is dedicated to exploring the intersection between business and law by sharing practical insights from professionals involved in corporate law, strategy and entrepreneurship. During the panel, Kathryn‑Ann spoke about the interplay between venture capital and intellectual property (“IP”) law, emphasizing how early‑stage IP strategies underpin valuation, diligence readiness and long‑term success. She also explored scaling challenges as startups mature and discussed how emerging technologies, including AI, are reshaping diligence, licensing, data use and product development.

On October 9, 2025, Cravath partner David J. Kappos delivered a keynote address at the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (“CIPA”) Congress in Bristol, United Kingdom. Dave’s presentation addressed U.S. developments at the intersection of AI and the law.

On October 9, 2025, Cravath partner Nicole M. Argentieri participated in the Global Investigations Review (“GIR”) Live: Global Investigations Summit, held in Lisbon. The fourth edition of this annual event brought together senior private practitioners, in-house counsel, government representatives and consultants from around the world to discuss current trends, recent enforcement actions and practical strategies for conducting investigations. Nicole’s panel examined the evolving landscape of U.S. white collar enforcement. The discussion covered a range of topics, including new enforcement priorities, recent policy updates and the latest trends in individual prosecutions and corporate resolutions.

On October 9, 2025, Cravath partner Sasha Rosenthal-Larrea participated in the World IP Review’s AI and IP Summit USA in New York. The one-day conference brought together private practice, in-house teams and AI pioneers to unlock AI’s potential and drive innovation in IP strategies, featuring sessions on streamlining legal workflows, navigating evolving regulations, building ethical frameworks and developing future-facing legal skill sets. Kappos testified before the United States Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Intellectual Property. The hearing, entitled “The Patent Eligibility Restoration Act – Restoring Clarity, Certainty, and Predictability to the U.S. Patent System,” focused on the Patent Eligibility Restoration Act of 2023 and its implications for the U.S. Patent System.

Zumbro participated in Columbia Law School and Turnaround Management Association Brazil’s 2025 Restructuring Conference, which was held from October 8-10 at Columbia Law School. The conference gathered attorneys, investors and Columbia faculty to discuss the latest developments in out-of-court restructuring and bankruptcy practices, both in the U.S. and abroad, and pressing issues in corporate restructuring. Paul spoke during a session entitled “Liability Management, Corporate Governance, and Out-of-Court Workouts,” which covered topics including financial distress and liability management exercises.

Joseloff delivered a guest lecture at New York University School of Law on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (“CFIUS”) and U.S. investment security policy during a course entitled “Sovereign Finance, Capital Markets and Global Regulatory Challenges Seminar,” which provides a comprehensive overview of sovereign wealth funds, their role as long-term investors after the 2008 financial crisis and the intersection of sovereign finance with global politics and economic integration. The course also examines the growing influence of these funds in alternative investments and the legal, regulatory and geopolitical challenges that arise from their expanding presence in the global market.

In September 2025, Cravath partner Philip J. Boeckman was elected as Chair of the Society of English and American Lawyers (“SEAL”). SEAL is a London‑based organization that for more than four decades has existed as a forum for English and American lawyers to meet and exchange views on professional, business, academic and cultural matters of concern to them. It brings together barristers, solicitors and members of the judiciary, regularly organizing social functions and talks on topics of interest to lawyers in jurisdictions on both sides of the Atlantic.

On September 25, 2025, European counsel Nicoleta D. Lupea participated in the 8th Annual IBA European Start‑up Conference in Cascais, Portugal. Nico spoke on a panel entitled “Navigating Ethics for Startup Lawyers.” The panel highlighted the unique ethical challenges faced by lawyers advising fast‑growing companies and investors, including managing conflicts of interest in founder–investor dynamics, preserving confidentiality, ensuring competence and maintaining transparency around fees. The panel also emphasized the benefits of strong ethical standards in safeguarding clients’ trust and supporting sustainable growth and the integrity of the profession in the startup and growth equity ecosystem.

In the summer of 2025, Cravath partner Andrew C. Compton was elected Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Lawyers Alliance for New York. The Lawyers Alliance is a provider of pro bono business and transactional legal services for nonprofit organizations and social enterprises that improve the quality of life for people in low‑income communities throughout New York City. Cravath has worked with the organization since 2001. Andrew has served on the Lawyers Alliance Board of Directors for three years, and additionally serves as Chair of its Investment Committee.

Leonard Teti II participated in “Tax’s Role in M&A — From Diligence to Closing,” a virtual event hosted by Tax Executives Institute as part of its 2025 CTO Discussion series. Len spoke about the critical role of tax professionals in M&A transactions, including in coordination with legal teams for seamless issue tracking, risk mitigation through targeted covenants, indemnities and the use of R&W and tax insurance. The discussion also covered strategic valuation and negotiation of basis step‑ups, analysis of structural alternatives to optimize deal value, key moments where tax leads influence deal structure and terms, best practices for collaboration with counsel and strategic post-closing follow‑ups to maximize tax efficiency and ensure compliance.

On September 18, 2025, Cravath partner Elad Roisman participated in the SEC’s roundtable on the SEC’s trade‑through rule at the agency’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. The roundtable was meant to aid the SEC in understanding the role the rule has had in shaping today’s markets and inform the Commission in its future decisions including rulemakings. The panelists included representatives from the equity and options markets such as brokers, exchanges, asset managers as well as others. Elad moderated the panel entitled “Forward Thinking,” where panelists discussed what if any changes are needed to the rule and what would be the repercussions for any changes.

Jennifer moderated a panel entitled “Cross‑Border Securities Investigations and Parallel Proceedings Litigation,” in which leading practitioners from the United States and Canada discussed important considerations for handling cross‑border securities matters in those jurisdictions. Michael moderated a session entitled “Dialogue with the Director,” during which he interviewed the Acting Director of the Division of Corporation Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

On September 17, 2025, Bronx Community Guardianship Network, Inc. (“BCGN”) honored Cravath partner Adam Sanchez and associates Daphne Fong and Gabriela Flores-Romo with the organization’s Founders’ Award at its Second Annual Charity Golf Outing and Awards Dinner. The award recognizes the “extraordinary assistance, advice and support” that the Cravath team provided BCGN through pro bono legal services. BCGN is a not-for-profit organization that provides a multi-disciplinary approach to life-planning, adult and juvenile guardianship and trustee services within the context of New York State Article 81 Mental Hygiene Law.
