Cravath’s London Office Moves to 100 Cheapside
On November 6, 2009, John W. White, a partner at Cravath and co‑chair of the Firm’s Board Advisory and Corporate Governance Practice, was appointed to the Standing Advisory Group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). The Standing Advisory Group (SAG) consists of approximately 30 members (plus participants from six observing organizations) with expertise in a variety of fields and advises the PCAOB on the establishment of auditing and related professional practice standards, as contemplated by the Sarbanes‑Oxley Act of 2002, which created the PCAOB. The PCAOB is a private‑sector, non‑profit corporation that oversees the auditors of public companies in order to protect the interests of investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, fair and independent audit reports. John was previously appointed to the SAG in October 2005, but resigned his position in February 2006 upon being named as the Director of the Division of Corporation Finance at the Securities and Exchange Commission. His current two‑year term with the SAG commenced in January 2010.
