Len Teti Featured on ALM’s “Legal Speak” Podcast

Cravath partner J. Leonard Teti II was featured on the October 4, 2024 episode of ALM’s “Legal Speak” podcast, which invites guests to share unique perspectives from across the legal industry. During the conversation with ALM editor Christine Simmons, Len discussed the launch of season 8 of Cravath’s “On Tax” podcast, which he hosts as an opportunity to speak to professionals across the world of tax law in order to highlight the people, connections and stories that make it a fascinating and dynamic area of practice. “It's not really a podcast about tax, it's a podcast about people,” noted Len, adding that “you don't need to be a tax person or even a lawyer, to benefit from the things that people are saying,” because the podcast “is about an individual's personal and professional growth over the course of a career.” Len also noted that in addition to business professionals the podcast has found an audience among law students and their professors. From a recruiting perspective, with those students who listen, “you're able to have a conversation about the Firm and about this particular law student's interest in starting his or her career at the Firm at a level far beyond what you would do in the absence of that kind of knowledge.”
Len also addressed stereotypes around tax lawyers, explaining that the podcast illuminates the broad range of careers and approaches tax professionals pursue, not just as technical experts but in Len’s case, as “commercial, transactional deal lawyer who has a specialty and a special knowledge base in tax,” and in the case of many guests whose tax expertise serves as a foundation for a diverse set of careers.

Vista Outdoor’s $1.125 Billion Sale of Revelyst to SVP
On October 4, 2024, Vista Outdoor Inc. (“Vista Outdoor”), the parent company of more than three dozen renowned brands that design, manufacture and market sporting and outdoor products, announced it has entered into a definitive agreement with funds managed by Strategic Value Partners, LLC, and its affiliates (“SVP”), a global alternative investment firm with approximately $19 billion of assets under management, to sell Revelyst in an all‑cash transaction based on an enterprise value of $1.125 billion.
