Segall spoke at the 2020 Next Generation of Antitrust, Data Privacy and Data Protection Scholars Conference, hosted by the New York University School of Law and the American Bar Association in New York City on January 31, 2020. Maggie chaired a session entitled “Digital Privacy,” which examined how the privacy regulation landscape has changed and the implications for individuals and the political process.

    Johnson & Johnson’s $3.4 Billion Acquisition of Auris Health, Inc.

    On February 13, 2019, Johnson & Johnson announced that Ethicon, Inc., entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Auris Health, Inc. (“Auris Health”) for approximately $3.4 billion in cash. Additional contingent payments of up to $2.35 billion, in the aggregate, may be payable upon reaching certain predetermined milestones. Auris Health is a privately held developer of robotic technologies, initially focused in lung cancer, with an FDA‑cleared platform currently used in bronchoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Cravath is representing Johnson & Johnson in connection with the transaction.

    On August 26, 2019, Pitney Bowes Inc., a global technology company that provides commerce solutions in the areas of e‑commerce, shipping, mailing, data, and financial services, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Software Solutions business to Syncsort for $700 million in cash. Cravath is representing Pitney Bowes in connection with the transaction.
