Cravath’s London Office Moves to 100 Cheapside

On November 8, 2011, Cravath partners Richard W. Clary and Karin A. DeMasi spoke at “‘Bet the Company’ Litigation 2011: Best Practices for Complex Cases,” a conference presented by the Practising Law Institute and held in New York City. Rich chaired the program and, in addition to delivering the opening remarks, spoke on a panel entitled “Anatomy of a Case: The Enron Saga,” which focused on the challenges of parallel proceedings against multiple parties in multiple jurisdictions and issues regarding motion practice, including class certification and summary judgment. He also spoke on a panel entitled “Methods for Streamlining Complex Litigation,” which discussed utilizing technology to manage complex discovery and the use of protocols for depositions, exhibits and motions.
Karin moderated a panel discussion entitled “Basic Jurisdictional Issues,” which discussed utilizing the judicial panel on multidistrict litigation and recent developments in class action removal, including the Class Action Fairness Act and SLUSA. She also spoke on a panel entitled “Ethical Issues in Complex Litigation,” which focused on challenges in the oversight of foreign document review, the use of contract attorneys and litigation funding.
