Rich Clary Participates in The Oxford Putney Debates 2020

On October 28, 2020, Cravath partner Richard W. Clary participated in “The Oxford Putney Debates 2020,” which were sponsored by the Foundation for Law, Justice and Society and Oxford University. Richard discussed alternatives to the United Kingdom’s parliamentary sovereignty, including the checks and balances system of the U.S. Constitution, and why this method was chosen. Richard previously participated in the 2017 and 2018 Putney Debates, and his paper “Thoughts from Across the Pond: The U.S. Constitution (1787, 2017)” was published as part of a volume entitled Constitution in Crisis: The New Putney Debates.
