The American Lawyer Honors Cravath with the Global Deal of the Year Grand Prize at the 2016 Global Legal Awards

On September 26, 2016, The American Lawyer announced its selection of Anheuser‑Busch InBev’s $106 billion acquisition of SABMiller plc as the grand prize winner of its “Global Deal of the Year” award in connection with the 2016 Global Legal Awards. The annual awards honor legal counsel involved in distinguished international work over the course of the last year. In 2016, the global contest attracted more than 200 entries. Cravath was recognized for its representation of Anheuser‑Busch InBev in the grand prize‑winning transaction.

The Cravath team on this transaction included partners Christine A. Varney and Yonatan Even on antitrust matters; and partners Stephen L. Gordon, Lauren Angelilli and Christopher K. Fargo on tax matters.

Cravath was also recognized for its representation of Shire plc on tax matters related to its combination with Baxalta, which was selected as the “Global M&A Deal of the Year: U.S.” Please click here for the related news item.
