Cravath’s London Office Moves to 100 Cheapside
Chris Medley focuses his practice on leveraged financing transactions, including cross‑border debt financings, refinancings and restructurings.
Mr. Medley represents leading investment banks and direct lenders in their most complex transactions in the European leveraged finance market, including term loan B financings, bank and bond structures, unitranche financings, post‑IPO financings and holdco debt financing matters.
Prior to joining Cravath, Mr. Medley’s notable transactions include representing the lead arrangers in various syndicated term loan B financings, including for Cooper Consumer Health’s acquisition of Viatris’s European OTC business; CVC’s acquisitions of Unilever Teas and Cooper Consumer Health; Astorg’s acquisition of Normec Group and Corialis; and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan’s acquisition of Logoplaste. Prior to joining Cravath, he also represented the direct lenders in numerous unitranche financings, including for Apax’s acquisition of the Zellis Group; Astorg’s acquisition of CordenPharma and Xceptor; Bridgepoint’s acquisition of Infinigate; and Infinigate’s subsequent acquisitions of Nuvias and Starlink.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Medley was seconded to the leveraged finance and high yield teams of two global investment banks. His private sector experience gives him a deep understanding of the internal workings of origination, credit and execution teams and allows him to provide practical and tailored advice to bank, fund and sponsor clients. In addition, Mr. Medley was based in Madrid for two years and brings an international perspective to his practice.
Mr. Medley has been named a “Next Generation Partner” in the Acquisition Finance category by The Legal 500 UK. He regularly delivers trainings to the Loan Market Association (LMA) on a range of topics related to leveraged financing.
Mr. Medley grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. He received an LL.B. from the University of Bristol in 2004 and an LPC with distinction from BPP University in 2005.
