Francis P. Barron retired from Cravath’s Litigation Department in December 2014. His practice focused on providing advice and litigation services related to securities, antitrust and commercial disputes and federal and state regulatory matters. Mr. Barron was also a member of the Corporate Governance and Board Advisory practice, counseling boards of directors, board committees and senior management of corporations and financial institutions in connection with government and internal investigations, shareholder demands and derivative litigation, and accounting restatements.

From July 2010 to January 2012, Mr. Barron served as Chief Legal Officer at Morgan Stanley.

Mr. Barron was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He received an A.B. summa cum laude from Harvard College in 1973 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1978, where he was an Editor of the Journal on Legislation. Mr. Barron joined Cravath in 1978 and became a partner in 1985. In July 2012, he returned to Cravath.

From July 2010 to January 2012, Mr. Barron served as Chief Legal Officer at Morgan Stanley.
