Kathleen E. Young has a broad litigation practice, with a particular focus on antitrust litigation and general commercial disputes.

Ms. Young’s representative matters include:

  • Representation of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (“BCBSA”) and more than a dozen member plans in consolidated multidistrict antitrust class action litigation—one of the largest class actions in the country—brought by putative classes of healthcare providers and health insurance subscribers, and in related opt-out litigation across the country brought by large self‑funded subscribers and providers.
  • Representation of Disney and its subsidiary ESPN in antitrust litigation brought by FuboTV in New York federal court seeking to block a joint venture through which Disney, ESPN, Fox and Warner Brothers Discovery would distribute their sports portfolios through a combined streaming platform.
  • Representation of M6 Midstream, a leading independent midstream energy company, in a property and antitrust dispute concerning a series of proposed natural gas pipeline installations in Louisiana.
  • Representation of Robinhood in dozens of lawsuits, including numerous putative class actions, centralized in multidistrict litigation. The actions involved antitrust, contract, securities and various other federal and state claims arising out of Robinhood’s decision to temporarily place certain limits on trading in certain securities in the face of unprecedented market volatility.
  • Representation of Forward Air Corporation in helping to secure a settlement in an action filed by Omni Logistics, LLC in the Delaware Court of Chancery, which sought to compel Forward Air to close its proposed acquisition of Omni.
  • Represented Biosense Webster (a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary) in antitrust litigation brought by competitor Innovative Health alleging monopolization and restraint of trade in the nationwide market for the sale of high density mapping and ultrasound catheters, helping to secure a summary judgment victory for Biosense.
  • Representation of Biogen in a qui tam action in Massachusetts federal court alleging that Biogen caused the submission of false claims to multiple federal healthcare programs through purported kickback schemes related to certain of Biogen’s multiple sclerosis drugs.
  • Representation of Morgan Stanley in a series of individual and class action lawsuits in New York federal court alleging collusion among banks to restrain competition by preventing the development of anonymous exchange trading of various complex financial products, including interest rate swaps and stock loans.

Ms. Young was born in Dallas, Texas. She received a B.A. from the University of Chicago in 2015 and a J.D. magna cum laude from Cornell University in 2018, where she was a member of the Law Review and the Academic Chair of the Women’s Law Coalition.
