G.J. Ligelis Jr. Named a 2021 “Dealmaker of the Year” by The American Lawyer

March 24, 2021

Cravath partner G.J. Ligelis Jr. was featured as a “Dealmaker of the Year” in the April 2021 issue of The American Lawyer. G.J. was selected for the annual feature in recognition of his representation of Just Eat Takeaway in its combination with Grubhub, which, once completed, will create the largest food delivery service outside of China. The profile highlights the complexities and challenges of the $7.3 billion all‑stock, cross‑border transaction, pointing to the need to “navigat[e] securities laws and cross‑border issues created by JET being listed in the U.S., the U.K. and the Netherlands.” The American Lawyer also noted the transaction as “the first major public company M&A deal in the U.S. since COVID‑19 hit” when it was announced in June 2020.
