Jin Baek Featured in Bloomberg Law’s 2025 “They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40” Series

On August 12, 2025, Cravath partner Jin‑Kyu Baek was featured in Bloomberg Law’s “They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40” series, which recognizes young lawyers who are “raising the bar in the legal profession,” based on their work on key client matters, assumption of leadership roles, pro bono commitments and more.

In a Q&A, Jin highlighted his representations of Johnson & Johnson, including on its acquisition of Intra‑Cellular Therapies, the largest health care transaction so far this year. Jin also discussed his role representing Aon in its $13 billion acquisition of NFP, a leading middle‑market property and casualty broker, which he described as a “challenging and ultimately satisfying” transaction that was a “great capstone” to his first year as a partner.

Jin noted the importance of familiarity with clients, which “enables us to be the best advisers we can be and achieve an amazing level of partnership.” He also described what success means in M&A: “Success as a team means that we achieve a successful outcome for our client, but also for each member of the team to have contributed meaningfully to that outcome and grown from it. While the former is obviously critical to what we do and the bedrock of our practice, at Cravath there is also a tremendous focus on making sure we are developing the next generation, with the shared understanding that this is critical for the Firm’s ability to continue to deliver for our clients the level of excellence that is expected of us.”
