On September 29, 2008, Morgan Stanley announced a $9 billion equity investment by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. as part of a strategic alliance related to Morgan Stanley’s recent conversion to a bank holding company. Cravath advised Morgan Stanley’s Board of Directors in connection with the conversion to a bank holding company and the Mitsubishi investment.
