Scott Reents Appointed for New York State Unified Court System’s Pandemic Practices Working Group

May 18, 2022

On May 5, 2022, the New York State Unified Court System announced the formation of a Pandemic Practices Working Group, which will be led by New York State Supreme Court Justice and Administrative Judge for the Seventh Judicial District Craig J. Doran. Scott Reents, Cravath’s lead attorney for data analytics and e‑discovery, was appointed to be a member of the working group, alongside other legal technology experts, court administrators, public and private‑sector practitioners and members of the judiciary. The Group will hold a series of public hearings around the state in coming months to examine the Court System’s response to COVID‑19, consider post‑pandemic procedures and determine which policies should be kept at the ready if court operations are again interrupted due to an unforeseeable event. The first public hearing is scheduled for June 7, 2022 at the New York Court of Appeals in Albany, New York.
