On July 26, 2010, a memo, entitled “The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act,” was issued to Cravath clients. The Dodd-Frank Act, which spans over 2,300 pages, provides for far-reaching changes to the U.S. financial regulatory system and also contains an array of other provisions that directly affect all U.S. public companies. This 14-page Cravath memo was written primarily for corporate executives and lawyers and, with this audience in mind, highlights the key provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act and provides a clear and concise summary of this landmark legislation.
