Cravath’s London Office Moves to 100 Cheapside
On October 20, 2022, Cravath hosted its fourth annual Global Enforcement Forum in Washington, D.C. The event brought together investigations and regulatory lawyers from the Firm and leading foreign firms across the globe for a series of presentations, panel discussions and roundtables examining significant developments in enforcement.
Programming began with welcome remarks from Cravath partner Benjamin Gruenstein, followed by a fireside chat with partner Jelena McWilliams, former chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, a panel on cross‑border investigations and international cooperation moderated by partner Evan Norris, and a panel on bank and fintech enforcement moderated by partner Jennifer S. Leete, former associate director in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement. Linda Jeng, Chief Global Regulatory Officer and General Counsel of the Crypto Council for Innovation, spoke on the Office of Foreign Assets Control’s designation of Tornado Cash and the future of crypto enforcement.
After a discussion with former commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission Noah Joshua Phillips, roundtable breakout sessions examined topics including developments in antitrust enforcement and litigation; global trends in cybersecurity regulation, enforcement and litigation; ESG‑related investigations and compliance; cryptoasset regulation and enforcement; sanctions developments in the US., EU, UK and beyond; and regulatory issues in international corporate transactions. The roundtables were moderated by Cravath partners Matthew Morreale, Margaret T. Segall, G.J. Ligelis Jr., Evan Norris and Michael L. Arnold, of counsel Megan Y. Lew, and partners from the guest firms.
The Forum concluded with a fireside chat with partner Elad L. Roisman, former commissioner and acting chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and closing remarks from partner John D. Buretta.
